Intergrative / Functional Medicine Diploma (DNM)

This program is arranged in a series of certificate courses for healthcare professionals who wish to upgrade their credentials for continuing education or practitioners seeking to gain course credits to qualify for DNM or NMD certification

You may choose to take one or more of the offered certificate course, to satisfy continuing education credits. Upon completion of each course a certificate is awarded and upon completion of twelve certificates in the series an integrative medicine diploma is awarded
Note: BNMP-NA/NMCC requirements for DNM or NMD certifications are; completion of integrative medicine diploma,  and evidence of five medicine science courses.

DIPLOMA PROGRAM  

This program is designed to provide you with knowledge of valuable community outreach programs and services. Through classroom and hands-on instruction, you will gain essential tools to offer vital assistance in the areas of alcoholism, drug abuse, stress management, weight management family violence, and the aged.

Additionally, your active participation in our Learning System will enable you to develop the educational and hands-on abilities to succeed as a health care professional.

You will be prepared to gain entry-level employment in an array of settings that include: child, youth, and family social service agencies; group homes; correctional and community mental health centers; and facilities for the physically and developmentally handicapped, consultant, private practice or group practice.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma at or above the general level or its equivalent Grade 12 English or equivalent is required.

MATURE STUDENTS

Applicants aged 19 or over without the OSSD will be considered on the basis of life skills, Mature Student interview a CV.

CHIROPRACTIC & PHYSIOTHERAPIST ASSISTANT DIPLOMA PROGRAM

This program has been designed to train individuals to work under the supervision of physiotherapists or chiropractors. The primary goal is to provide learning opportunities which promote the basic knowledge, skills, value and behaviors that will enable the graduate to implement delegated task, under supervision and direction, within a variety of health care and community settings.

Your active participation in our learning system will help you to develop confidence in your ability as a healthcare professional.

Career opportunities may be found in such settings as; hospitals rehab department ,physiotherapy clinics; long term care facilities/homes for the aged; sport medicine clinics; sports and training organizations; healthcare and fitness spas and clinics; public health services; adult day care centers; group homes; clinics offering chiropractic, homeopathic and naturopathic care; and facilities offering prosthetic services.

Chiropractic philosophy, spinal anatomy, sub-luxation complex, and spinal pain

CA Duties

Responsibilities of the Chiropractic Assistant, medical records, patient communications, SOAP notes, and confidentiality

Emergency Procedures

Chiropractic Office Emergencies, red flags to care, includes blood borne pathogens, recognition of emergency situations, performing the primary and secondary survey

Communications

Patient communication skills, CA to patient relationships, office etiquette, letters and report construction

Technical Skills

Obtaining a history, vital signs, record keeping skills, consents to transfer records

Law and Ethics

Confidentiality, respondent superior, sources of malpractice,
professional boundaries; definitions, prevention, sexual harassment, and developing professional relationships

Human Body in Health and Disease

Discusses 20 commonly encounter diseases and disorders seen in chiropractic practice.

Physiotherapy

The physiology of wound repair, applications, indications and contraindications of heat, diathermy, electrotherapy, cryotherapy, traction, and construction of exercise programs

Radiographic Protection

Basics of x-ray physics, gonad shielding,and x-ray processin
