APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMS

A personal interview is required as part of our application process as interviews are designed to ascertain suitability for the program and to clarify expectations. Academic and personal achievements which demonstrate an ability to commit to, and be effective within a professional training program, will be to the applicant’s advantage. Applicants are asked to adhere to the following steps to ensure that processing is not delayed.

  1. Application form
  2. Current C.V.
  3. Certified Transcripts of all post-secondary education.
  4. Two personal references, from a professional e.g. a lawyer, doctor or dentist, etc., must be addressed to: The Admissions Committee. (Letters from family members are not acceptable).
  5. Photographs: Two passport-size photos.
  6. Application fee of $200.00  (non-refundable)

This application procedure is relevant ONLY to professional programs but not to CEU seminars, interest courses and certificates.


GRADING

THE GRADING PROCESS

Instructors will review each exam taken during the course of study within two to three weeks of the exams completion. Results will be forwarded to the student by email or conventional mail. Marks will not be publicly posted.

Students are advised to make notes concerning their weak areas when they receive exam results. Where exam scores indicate difficulty in a particular area, students may consult the Registrar to arrange for tutorial sessions with the instructor.

Grade Scale

Course grades are based on attendance, theory assignments, theory tests, practical assignments, and practical tests. Students must achieve a grade of "C" or better for work to be considered acceptable.

Work is graded according to the following scale:

Theory
90 to 100% A (Excellent)
80 to 89% B (Good)
70 to 79% C (Satisfactory)
69% or below D (Needs more work/ rewrite)

Records Retention

As required by education law, all exams remain in the student's file and are stored for seven after which they may be archive for additional ten years.

 

METHODS

METHODS OF INSTRUCTION

There are three levels of training format for all doctoral and professional degree programs;

  1. Basic Medical Sciences
  2. Mentorship on Principles and Therapeutics
  3. Supervised Clinical internship/externship

 

PAYMENT

FUNDS AND FEES

In the event of a student's withdrawal, inaction, or deferment, the following refunds apply:

  • Students are required to pre-paid for each semester or module of a program
  • Within 1 week of enrollment, 75% of moneys submitted.
  • Within over 1 week and up to three weeks after enrollment, 50% of moneys submitted.
  • After over 3 weeks, no refunds.

All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing.

Fees

Fees are payable in advance before the commencement of each semester and/or module. All fees are subject to change, generally on an annual basis.
Fees are payable in full once a student has commenced a module unless other financial arrangements have been made in advance of start date.

Fees are not refundable if a student withdraws after the commencement of the semester/module, however deferment or transfer to another module may be granted at the discretion of the Financial Administrator – a fee will apply.

 

GRADUATION

PROGRAM COMPLETION

All students are expected to meet their education and financial obligations to the college before graduation. All tuition, graduation and miscellaneous fees must be paid in full, prior to completion of the study program.  All official student records, such as incoming transcripts, two letters of recommendation, and notarized verification of work/life experience credits, must be complete and on file. All course work must be presented in the required formats and students must achieve a passing grade of “C” or higher. Official transcripts and degrees, diplomas or certificates will not be issued until all obligatory payments and course work is completed.  A graduate of CCHM will be proud to be alumni of a college that prides itself in attaining the highest standards for traditional healthcare and humanitarian medicine delivery.
